For the Mastercard Holders, a New Contactless Payment Service Using Key Fob ISBC Key is Now Available

Mastercard, the Russian provider of contactless payment devices ISBC and the European developer of tokenization services Fidesmo, have announced the first joint product in the Russian market, an RFID key fob having the ISBC Pay contactless payment function. The new payment device is available for Mastercard holders. Eight banks were the first to join the launch: Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank, PSB, Pochta Bank, MKB, Rosselkhozbank, Bank Otkritie and Tatsotsbank.

To purchase a key fob for contactless payment, the user needs to enter the ISBC Pay website. To make an order, it is required to safely enter the user Mastercard’s data that he/she is planning to upload to the key fob, and the delivery address. After receiving the key fob, the user can quickly and easily activate it on the Fidesmo website through SMS verification to the phone number linked to the user's bank account. One can upload the card to several key fobs and use them all, moreover, independently alternate between the cards via the Fidesmo app.

The gadget case is made of plastic and has a special coating that protects the paint from fading, mechanical damages and moisture. In technological terms, the product is on the basis of both NFC chip and secure software by the fintech company Fidesmo. To make secure transactions, Mastercard uses tokenization technology. The key fob doesn’t need charging, it doesn’t have any labels and personal data of the owner on its surface. When needed, you can block the card in the key fob via the mobile app in the product or by contacting the bank.

Key fobs ISBC Pay are manufactured within the concept ART IN YOUR POCKET: each device has images of famous paintings. At the start, users will have access to more than 50 designs from six collections, including the patterns from artworks by Gustav Klimt, Edouard Manet, Vincent Van Gogh and other artists.

“The wearable electronics market, according to Strategy Analytics, grew by 37% in 2020, up to 527 million items. ISBC is developing in parallel with the growing market, so since 2015, we have released over 7 million wearable RFID devices for various applications. Today, you can connect key fobs ISBC Pay to one of 17 banks around the world, ” – Ivan Demidov, the founder of the ISBC Group, commented on the launch of the project.

“Mastercard and its partners are the first to bring lots of innovations to Russia for the users to make payments in the place and with the method they find the most comfortable. The results obtained during our research of contactless technologies show that one-click payment is the form of payment for off-line purchases preferred by 70% of people under survey in Russia. We are glad to join forces with ISBC and Fidesmo and offer the Russians a new convenient contactless payment solution. I am sure that the key fob ISBC Pay will help our cardholders address numerous everyday tasks quickly and easily, ” - says Dmitry Tartyshev, Mastercard Digital Business Development Director in Russia.
Key fob security is confirmed by Mastercard Certificate.
